New Post finishing the Hudson River School & the Inversion of “Art”
Just posted the last of the Hudson River School - beast art narrative posts [click for the link]. It’s a direct continuation of the last one - the artists and paintings that were supposed to follow the more general stuff before it was obviously too long. Nothing really to add - the topic feels played out now. Maybe an aftermath post at some point to see the real impact.
The only other thing is that when it comes to prestige in the arts, the house of lies is no more for real than it is on anything else. You don’t need it. Just liking what you like doesn’t just torpedo “critical authority”. It tears down the nonsensical pretension wall that keeps people from being uplifted the way art was always meant to do.
