"Some might question the value of performing this kind of dolt’s anatomy" Not me. I'm entertained.

It's a fine line. They're way to pleasurable.

Those uninterested in learning from honest discussion or example must be taught by pain.

They see being kept out as an injury, rather than the kindness it really represents.

The alternative is either pollution's cruelty to everyone, or something that goes beyond hazing. Which would, itself, be a form of pollution of the group from (purpose) to (boot camp babysitting).

Absolutely. It's that be careful what you wish for thing. The was we'll speak to each other on SG with bluntness that would make Gammas do that salt and snail thing. Economy of language when life isn't basking in own comments. Also, high status guys are secure. You know who has honorable intent. Emotionalized engagement is, well, you know.

Thanks for the quote.

I don't know if you saw it, but I left a comment before that one, but it appeared further down in the thread. I bet $5 that I was wasting my time trying to respond to this fub in good faith. I was not surprised when no one took the bet.

I was also really trying to give the guy a clue that maybe he misread something, and if he read it again carefully he might not feel insulted. But nope, it was accurate and he proved it.

You were the voice of reason in all this. The whole exchange was like a flawless demonstration better than I could have scripted. It was his ludicrous response to your clear explanation that made me notice him in the first place.

Thank you for the write up. It is broadly applicable.

Your observations have parallels beyond social groups, extending into business relationships as well.

It's amazing how much hay you can make paying attention. I learned to do it out of necessity and learned much later how many don't do it at all.

This behavoir is never acceptable in any social setting. Nice take down.

I am a teacher and rarely this happens in class, but when it does, it must be crushed with extreme vigor.

100%. It's progressive and metastatic. The individual turd gets smellier and others are drawn/empowered. Conversely, hard reaction sets a tone and example. What feminized cowards deny is that excessive tolerance is choosing [not virtue]. The virtuous and neutral suffer, and vice becomes the ethos. Stamp it out. They'll thank you, consciously or not.

The standard must be civility and high status behavior.

Tolerance to baseness is acid to any group.

The internet special boys break in the setting, especially when asked to have fidelity to any corpus.
