John,

Just wanted to thank you. I put you, VD, and Neon Revolt at the very tip-top of the list of "people who have expanded my thinking" (non-Catholic internet, for intra-Catholic spiritual direction I have a different list.) Don't know what I would have done without the ideas and models you've introduced.

So thanks. And Happy Easter! Keep doing God's work.

The elite question is real. All civil wars and revolutions are elite wars. The question is are there two factions and can one at least see part of the problem space?

Id say yes. The louder faction is the losing one from the last 20 years. They still have lot of poisitions, and it seems like they are losing ground. An example would be; every institution is signing up for AI no matter how loud the faction gets. It is at least partial subsidy, but it is also facing that 'there is something new here.' Successful institutions will make some version of the switch. The viable path will be training human minders of AI.

The need will be small, 5% percent would probably be enough. The system will have to jettison its old ideas, especially the most insane ones. If it cannot, the systems will not work. AI can fake any ideology you want, but it will break the AI. It has to be reality facing to work. Bad imputs destroy humans and bots.

This will require a remake of education. In a tier 2 elite institute, and there is some pressure in that direction. It will happen, or it will be total collapse.
